A big fat lie about the benefit of carbohydrates
If you are not a diabetic on drug or insulin treatment, you do not need to eat carbohydrate to have a normal blood sugar. The liver will make plenty of it out of other nutrients. There is no such thing as a carbohydrate-deficiency condition. People who eat higher-fat and lower-carbohydrate diets have better concentration, as their blood sugar doesn’t spike like it does for our unfortunate cereal-stuffed children. As evidence for that, the top memory experts favour a low-carb diet. Give your children a fry in the morning. Not only is it not bad for you, but it is what we should have continued to eat.
The whole-fat heart disease hypothesis has been a huge error and it is fuelling the current obesity disaster. The more fat you eat (substituting for carbohydrate) the thinner and healthier you will be. Modern science supports this. If you give your children spaghetti bolognese, give minimal pasta and maximal meat. The fatter the better.
