Mobile phones can be a clue to cause of accidents

I fully agree with your editorial of August 2, and the suggestion to confiscate mobile phones from drivers convicted of using them.

But as an accident investigator, I know that mobile phones can be useful.

We regularly assist insurance companies, vehicle owners, and solicitors/courts in determining who may be at fault with regard to vehicle condition: i.e, brakes, tyres, lights, angle and depth of impact, attendance at scene of accident, etc.
