Commonwealth debate

Regarding the current debate wether Ireland should rejoin the Commonwealth; it should be noted that there is no contradiction between membership of the Commonwealth and a free republic. Think India!

Éamon de Valera understood this at the time of the Anglo Irish Treaty debate. Perhaps we should take a leaf out of the old boy’s book.
