A shameful legacy

In the wake of the recent State visit to the UK and talk of the our commemoration of 1916, how do we have the gall to remember that event when, almost within 50 years of gaining our independence (1922) we signed into another imperial power (Europe in 1973&).

At least we had good representation under the old system. Now, we have a piddling few sitting on the sidelines, waffling, while the real power is in Brussels. Having turned our back on 1916, we have nothing to celebrate/commemorate,
