Demise of papers as Gaeilge is bad news

An Irish-language online news site is not what we need to nourish the cúpla focal. We gather in countrywide weekly ciorcail cainte to chat, plan, discuss news of the Irish language, but, lately, we have had no ‘tools’ to further our cause in keeping it alive.

We always had publications like Foinse, Gaelsceal or Saol to keep us in touch with cúrsaí na Gaeilge. We should not have to depend on print-offs.

Indeed, many people who are true, voluntary promoters of Irish do not have access to the internet.
