GSOC/Garda crisis - Inadequate response

Since that scandal grew to include the Garda whistleblowers’ allegations around penalty points and the force’s reluctance to deal with their claims, the goalposts have moved several times a day. The allegations are so very serious, the implications so sinister that it is unlikely that the rules of engagement for the inevitable inquiry can be finalised any time soon.

It is more than unfortunate though that the Government seems to be so very reactive rather than proactive on the affairs. The news that Government is to appoint a senior counsel to examine the dossier from Sergeant Maurice McCabe containing allegations of Garda misconduct does little to allay those fears.
