Sorry state of our poor confused country

I could scarcely believe my eyes when I read of two pharmaceutical firms advertising for staff on the jobsbridge/internship initiative set up by our government.

Sorry state of our poor confused country

One of the firms Horvione, based in Cork, will pay €50 on top of the dole received by the prospective employee who must have a PhD. Another firm Clarachem, based in Mulhuddart, also insists that the applicants must have a minimum qualification of a PhD for their job which will pay a miserly €50 on top of the applicant’s dole. Is this cynicism or what? Or is it a government scam to get people off the live register, which is being exploited by firms?

I would imagine that any PhD graduate who is not currently employed would be googling air fares out of this country on reading such job adverts. Also it must be a major disincentive to those who are studying in our colleges if this represents their future job prospects.
