The Vatican’s benevolence towards Mary McAleese has been truly magnanimous.

Having graciously permitted our former president to complete a degree in Canon Law in one of it’s most prestigious colleges, their only reward was to be vociferously bitten on the hand that feeds her.

Of rather more grave concern however must be her critical reasoning being accredited to such a prestigious institution.
