Memorabilia of MV Kerlogue on display
I am sure your readers will be interested to know the original photograph in the article and also the letter from the Nazi German minister in Dublin, Dr Eduard Hempel, are on display in the National Maritime Museum in Dun Laoghaire. The museum also has German medals from survivors of the incident. Also on display is the damaged Irish Tricolour flown on the MV Kerlogue when two months earlier it was bombed by two RAF Mosquitoes 130 miles off the south coast of Ireland.
The National Maritime Museum is located at Haigh Terrace, Dun Laoghaire and is open every day from 11am until 5pm.
