It’s time to end the end of summertime

British summertime has become the biggest pain in the butt. Millions of clocks have to be put back and forward every year all because of one man who wanted people to work longer hours. In many parts of the world, daylight saving has been discontinued.

It’s time to end the end of summertime

The practice of resetting the clocks is self-defeating because it causes people to miss their appointments. Let’s face it: nobody would even bother to go to the trouble of resetting all the clocks in their house or business if the media did not remind them. There is a big difference between the 1800s when daylight saving was proposed and today where there is sufficient artificial lighting. Setting back millions of clocks, watches, and other time-keeping devices far outweighs any benefits.

The time needed to do so causes massive inconvenience. People do not come to work on time, they miss appointments, their sleeping patterns are disrupted, and many clocks tell the wrong time after they have been wrongly reset. It is time that daylight saving was brought to an end.
