Dressed to kill?
Earlier this year, a factory collapsed in Bangladesh and 1,000 workers were killed, many of them young girls. They were making clothes for Primark, as well as for other outlets.
The workers in these factories experience horrific conditions, including physical and verbal harassment, insufficient space, light, breaks or drinking water.
Yet the vision statement on the ISPCC website wants an Ireland where all children are heard and valued, and to advocate on their behalf.
So that’s OK, then. Let the children in the sweatshops in Bangladesh make T-shirts, because they have no advocate. Something is rotten, me thinks.
