I’m not anti-British, I just wasn’t that pushed about the royal birth

IT’S amazing the conclusions that some people will jump to (on Twitter, at least, and also by anonymous text).

I found myself accused of anti-Britishness by a number of people this week for deciding to provide next to no coverage on my radio programme of the birth of the latest addition to the British royal family.

The only coverage we provided was an analysis of the extraordinary media coverage itself, particularly on the television, where hours upon hours of time were wasted both before and after the announcement of the birth, talking about little or nothing at all.
