Wrong way to publicise a story

I wish to register my complaint with the Irish Examiner’s outdoor marketing campaign in Limerick to sensationally sell its upcoming crime feature.

Wrong way to publicise a story

I have absolutely no issue with a series focusing on crime statistics across the country, particularly at a time when crime figures are down across the board in Limerick, with major crime down by as much as 60% in some areas, according to the most recent garda comments.

And usually I wouldn’t make a judgment on something in a newspaper that I haven’t read. But my gripe is the shock tactics which the Irish Examiner has chosen to ‘sell’ this story and the positioning of a screaming ill-advised billboard at Colbert Station, one of the main entry points into the city for visitors and tourists to Limerick.
