FF gaining ground — the laugh is on us

The news that some poll shows Fianna Fáil gaining ground again proves either that polls are ridiculous or that democracy is a hopelessly unsuitable way of choosing people to run a country.

FF politicians demonstrated incompetence and negligence almost beyond belief, and occasional dishonesty, for many years. Its contempt for the Irish electorate was very clear even before former disgraced leader Bertie Ahern suggested “moaners and cribbers” should commit suicide. That same glorious leader gave one of the previous corrupt party leaders a state funeral to rub in their contempt for us. Then they sat and watched, and even occasionally assisted, while the economy of this potentially great country was run into the ground by trying in vain to pay for the gigantic bureaucracy that FF had created, and standing by as morally corrupt bankers, invented money on computers to gamble with and lose.

Yes this current Government is hopeless but they are trying to clear up the gigantic, complex mess left by FF, and pay for the gigantic pensions, bonuses and debts of all the people that ruined Ireland under a previous government.
