Lance Armstrong - A belated confession

Disgraced American cyclist Lance Armstrong has apparently admitted that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his cycling career.

He had little or no option as the sport he once dominated — in more ways than one — has distanced itself from him after it could no longer pretend it believed his lies.

It may have taken a decade too long to reach this point, and too many careers have been blighted by association with Armstrong, simply because individuals, especially some journalists, refused to be browbeaten by the American’s aggressive assertions of his innocence.
