Television going digital - Get with the programme

In less than three weeks’ time the television aerial on your, or on a neighbour’s, roof will be as obsolete as the radio sets that had to warm up before our grandparents could listen to Saturday night dancing on the radio.

On Wednesday, Oct 24, our terrestrial, analogue TV service, one that has served us well for decades, will be switched off and replaced by a digital system.

This change will have no impact on those who enjoy a satellite or cable television service but anyone stilldepending on aerials needs to get with the programme. This is not difficult and can be achieved easily by asking a professional or a neighbour for help.
