Use referendum day to get more value for our money

Nobody objects to the long-awaited and deserving Children’s Rights Referendum being set for Saturday, Nov 12.

Does the Government realise, however, that running a referendum in the midst ofa deep recession costs an awful lot of money and should be planned wisely?

Why not utilise referendum day to also get an answer from the electorate to other national issues? Ones that are so important that, if implemented, could (over time) save the Exchequer hundreds of millions.
