Not for decades have excitement levels been so high as in the build-up to this clash between rival counties and rare visitors on final day at Croke Park.

It is great to see two counties at Croke Park who have not been involved for so long in one of the year’s sporting highlights. It is 61 years since the coveted cup was brought back to Mayo, and two decades since Sam was celebrated in Donegal.
