Whale burial

The best decision was taken by Cork City Council and the Irish Whale and Dolphin group to have a burial far out at sea of the young fin whale that died last week at Baltimore, Co Cork.

It came from the sea and the right and more natural move was made to return her to the sea, instead of incineration. Ailing whales or dolphins usually beach themselves when weak, as they don’t want to drown at sea. They want to simply rest and pass away.
