Three pilot whales were successfully refloated, for a second time, after coming ashore in Brandon Bay in west Kerry yesterday.

An expert has warned that a dolphin, “tormented” by some swimmers, may kill someone or the mammal may have to be removed or destroyed.

The best decision was taken by Cork City Council and the Irish Whale and Dolphin group to have a burial far out at sea of the young fin whale that died last week at Baltimore, Co Cork.
