We need to change system of governance
This, also, is a quote echoed daily by the Irish electorate when they see what the politicians are doing to our beautiful country. Unfortunately, politicians don’t ‘do’ responsibility in this country. If they did, we would have a big turnover in politicians and further crowding in our prisons.
Bondholder debt, mass unemployment, mass emigration and social disintegration is the daily reminder of the way our politicians treat us. All this is just a symptom of the underlying problem. We have a system of governance in this country (and in all so-called world ‘democracies’) which has repeatedly failed its citizens in producing the results that it was set up to achieve.
Why don’t we change our system of governance to a democratic one, in the proper sense of the word, and put people in charge who are qualified for the job?. Unless we do, we will have more of the same mismanagement of our country and our finances, with austerity a way of life.
It is time to think outside the box, folks! We have a system of government that is archaic and needs to be replaced with a system more fitting to the 21st century.
If we do, tomorrow may be a brighter day!
