Planning will ensure town’s future

Further to my recent visits to Cobh during the Titanic celebrations, I wish to convey my congratulations to the Titanic 100 crew and volunteers, for their hard work in putting on a wonderful show of Cobh.

It goes to show if you make the effort, you will get the support and they sure did.

Being a native of Cobh I witnessed one of the largest crowds present for the celebrations, especially for the guard of honour by our superb president Michael D Higgins and the resounding speeches which followed. Cobh is unique in that it has such a large beautiful harbour, the fundamental for any tourist industry. Credit must be given to those who developed Cobh to what it is today.
