Government should keep its promises

Minister Phil Hogan stated that every householder in the country who refuses to register and pay the household charge will firstly be tracked down by obtaining names and addresses from other Government agencies and this requires laws to be changed. These people will then be fined and or prosecuted.

Government should keep its promises

He has no problem changing laws to make sure all Irish citizens obey all the new charges to fund the servicing of our national debt. Fine Gael/Labour refuse to make good on their pre-election promises of not giving Anglo Irish Bank and it’s debtors “another red cent”.

Would it be a reasonable position to only support the Government in its introduction of all these new taxes and levies if it did its bit by trying to ease the burden on the country by renegotiating the bailing out of unsecured and speculative international bondholders in the now “dead” Anglo-Irish bank.
