Unfortunately, society has grown used to the intensive farming of animals and chickens which often means that they are treated merely as items of production rather than sentient creatures deserving a satisfying life.

Valuing our elderly

Now it seems that humans are to be regarded in much the same way. Our Government has been asked by the IMF to consider reducing or cutting back benefits for the elderly, many of whom are barely able to manage as it is.

Who cares if some die of malnutrition or cold, so long as the bondholders get their money? What is valued above all else now is money.
