Cut the cost of doing business in Ireland
We have also read retail prices in Ireland are 18% higher than the EU average.
There is a link between the level of retail prices and job reduction. Ireland is losing jobs and losing the opportunity to create jobs like a bucket with large holes loses water, because of the cost of doing business driven by what the troika says is the protected retail consumer home market.
In order to improve the environment for growth and job retention, we need to reduce the cost of doing business and living in Ireland, starting with reducing the prices of consumer home market products and services by circa 20%, followed by a similar reduction in wages, salaries and social welfare.
The value of our income is only what that income can purchase. With both income and outgoings reduced by the same amount, the purchasing power of people’s income within Ireland will not be changed significantly.
The above will, however, have the benefit of reducing the cost of doing business in Ireland, thus making Ireland more attractive for investment and job creation and job retention.
