A shocking loss of our farm bird population

THE news that we have lost half our farm birds is more than shocking; it shows just how far our assault on nature has gone.

How much of this is down to the REPS/local authority policies of reducing our hedgerows to mangled, shorn stumps, thus removing habitat, nesting sites, etc?
