Why I am staging my own tax protest

I AM writing to you in anger and total disgust at the way the Government is squandering our taxpayer’s money. Who gave them the right to bail out the banks? And only last week we had the fiasco of the Moriarty Tribunal.

I would also query the 14 years and millions of our money being paid to the legal professions — €2,000 a day.

I do not mind paying high taxes if spent on healthcare, education and other essential public services, but not to greedy bankers, corrupt politicians and over-paid legal parasites.

For years we have stood idly by and let the ruling elite get away with this, well enough is enough.

I am an OAP and allegedly owe the tax authorities some money.

I am refusing to pay as I can see it as the only protest I can make as an individual. But I cannot do this alone, I need the support of others as alone I am virtually powerless.

What I am proposing is a campaign of civil disobedience, refuse to give the Government any more of our money to squander.

Refuse to pay income tax, car tax, VAT and any other revenues. If enough of us protest in this manner the Government might be brought to its senses.

They cannot jail all of us.
