Hawk-Eye at Croker - Fair play is good sport
This is as true in sport as it is in any sphere of activity so the GAA’s decision to give goal-mouth cameras a trial next month is very timely. The commitment needed for amateur players to get to Croke Park is so very great that everything should be done to ensure that the correct decisions are reached.
There have been a litany of poor decisions in all sports in recent times and if technology can help make sure the right result is reached then what’s not to like? It reduces the very often unfair burden on officials who sometimes have to make huge decisions in seconds while under great pressure.
