Voters have learned the lessons of the past
The electorate of Ireland have learned the lessons of 1977 — no single party with a large majority. That they also realised the danger the Green Party pose to democracy is a plus.
Gormley, in particular, showed his true colours (pun intended) when he allowed local government to be dictated by unelected county managers.
