IT seems to me that people can have conveniently short memories when they want to assign the roles of scapegoat and hero.

Don’t buy into the Fine Gael hype

Although Enda Kenny and Fine Gael campaigned in 2007 by promising more expenditure and reducing income tax, the entire blame for the crisis and recession is assigned to Fianna Fáil by Fine Gael and echoed unchallenged by journalists.

Fine Gael have fought this election on this false premise and it seems that we, the people, are only too happy to buy into this.
