Ex-Taoiseach Ahern has left country with a bewildering array of quangos

I am delighted to hear of the retirement at last of the disgraced politician Bertie Ahern.

Unfortunately, we will be paying for his recklessness for generations to come, along with his over-inflated and undeserved pension, Garda drivers, etc.

He supervised an increase in the public pay bill from €6.6bn in 2000 to €19bn by 2008.
