The Irish Open - Admirable ambition

THE organisers of the Irish Open, and the world-class Irish players who support them, are to be congratulated on their pluck and vision.

They announced that, despite the absence of a main sponsor and possibly reduced prize money, the event would go ahead in July at Killarney.

This is a recognition of the successes of Irish players and the reception the event got when held in Killarney.
