It’s time to terminate FÁS-type lifestyles
The board of Údarás would have been well aware of the skeletons in their own closet while the FÁS scandal was front page news — yet none of them came forward to reveal the waste.
The opposition should introduce a bill making it clear that unless state agency employees who have engaged in similar behaviour come forward of their own volition, they will lose their benefits.
In other words, if the fraud has to be uncovered by the media, the Public Accounts Committee or any external party, those responsible forfeit the terms of their contract of employment.
