Nine questions that remain unanswered
1. Why are budget cuts going to be aimed at the general population instead of starting at the top and working downwards?
2. Why is our Taoiseach paid more than the president of the United States?
3. Why do we need a Seanad?
4. Why do we need a presidency?
5. Why do we need so many TDs, most of whom are surplus to our requirements?
6. Why can’t our youth get jobs on merit? (Instead of what you know, it’s who you know).
7. Why haven’t the fraudulent bankers been arrested as they were in the US?
8. Why are lavish ministerial transport perks and expenses not greatly reduced? The overpriced Mercs should go and be replaced with the kind of standard low-maintenance vehicles that are used by ordinary people.
9. Why haven’t all those Government ‘advisers’ been shown the door? After all, ministers are already overpaid to run the country, yet they spend millions on so-called advisers and consultants.
Considering its size, we must be the most corrupt country in the world.
Ideally, it would be better if everyone pulled together by forming a type of rainbow government made up of the best TDs available.
