Boycotting God

THE reasoning behind the recent mass boycott made little sense.

Presumably to be a Catholic means to believe in the tenets and teachings of the Catholic faith.

At their very core is the doctrine of the eucharist. One only needs an elementary familiarity with this teaching to understand that boycotting mass can only mean boycotting God. Such a notion turns worship of God into a political bargaining tool – absurd.

More than anything else the idea of a mass boycott indicates a complete lack of faith, as well as a radical misunderstanding of the nature of the church.

In plain terms, then, to engineer a mass boycott is to attempt to revolt against God and his divinely instituted order. Of course, it’s not the first time such a rebellion was launched, though by all accounts things did not go so well the last time round.
