Dangerous driver jailed - Learning the hard way

EARLIER this week new, mandatory measures for learner drivers were announced in an effort to convince younger people to drive more safely.

Yesterday a more assertive way of achieving this objective was seen when a young man was jailed for 22 months for dangerous driving. He was also banned from driving for 25 years. By any stretch of the imagination this is a severe and possibly life-defining sanction.

How sad it is that this society has to go to such lengths to make our roads safe.
