We understand all too well, Mr Lenihan

FINANCE Minister Brian Lenihan said in his Béal na mBláth address he understands the public “incomprehension and anger” at the vast sums being poured into the banking sector.

We understand all too well, Mr Lenihan

By incomprehension does he mean our inability or failure to understand, or our lack of understanding.

We do understand what’s happening, all too well.

The incomprehension lies with him — he doesn’t understand that we don’t condone the latest official sport, in which we are both spectators and unwilling participants, of flinging billion after billion down the proverbial to secure the good wishes of the authorities in Brussels.

‘Béal na mBruiseál’, methinks.
