Broadcaster with a generosity of spirit

FLORENCE Craven (Letters, May 4) may believe Gerry Ryan was overpaid, overweight, etc, but he had a generosity of spirit and a live-and-let-live attitude that Dr Craven would do well to learn from.

Gerry Ryan became a “well-known personality” as a result of his radio slot and during his time on radio, he would never have been so small-minded as to suggest that only those who are perceived to be without fault are entitled to be grieved publicly.
