WHEN Eamon O Cuív was asked on RTÉ’s The Week in Politics about the €1.5m top-up to Bank of Ireland chief executive Richie Boucher’s pension he said he didn’t understand why such people, who made a total mess of the banks and our economy, didn’t hand back some of what they have.

Could it be Mr Boucher is following the example of some TDs, ministers and one former Taoiseach, who played no small part in our downfall, continuing to draw massive pensions in addition to a very generous salary?
