Double jeopardy

I HAVE been to Ireland as an American tourist in good and bad economic times. When the Irish Tourist Board allowed hotels – good ones and bad ones – to charge double occupancy for a room when one is travelling alone, that’s nothing more than greed.

Many American tourists are unaware of this greedy requirement.

The tourist board needs to make it clear to visitors that hotels may charge double occupancy when travelling alone.
