Voice of the sea

I PAY my RTÉ licence fee, so I feel I have a right to start a campaign to bring back Tom MacSweeney (Irish Examiner, January 21).

I always pricked up my ears when I heard his voice knowing he was going to talk about something related to the sea. As someone who lives close to the coast I loved to hear his reassuring tones, especially on wild winter nights. He did a brilliant job — bring him back.

If RTÉ decides to ignore my pleas, perhaps another national station could find a slot for this very popular marine correspondent.
