Some teachers in the ‘overpaid’ ranks?

IN his letter (November 13), Nick Folley asks which type of public sector worker do we think is overpaid?

I think at least some teachers are. A secondary teacher, with 25 years’ experience and an honours degree and H.Dip, earns €69,839 per annum, or €95 for each of the 735 class contact hours for which he or she is contracted.
