Raising the bar

IN response to your editorial (May 19), one must conclude women are perhaps their own worst enemies.

While so many women settle for less in their work and relationships, there will be no progress for them in the corridors of power.

There can be no respect for women while it is they themselves who endorse their own sexualisation in the media. In the words of an elderly woman in Mayo, “women would want to start respecting themselves first if they want to be priests”. Set yourselves nice and high as I do, ladies.
