Development aid - On the road to success

THIS week’s budget cut €100m from our international development aid budget, and though it was unavoidable it was nonetheless disappointing.

This is especially true as yesterday’s gladdening report from Bóthar, the international development agency, more accurately reflected Irish attitudes to helping the weak.

Bóthar, who encourage self-help in the Third World by giving farm animals to struggling families, have reported a record response to their spring calf appeal.
