Prankster pulls off a grand slam at the gallery

I WAS out of the jurisdiction for only two days, but thought I’d somehow managed to overstay for a few days as a result of unconsciousness or abduction by aliens because when I got back it was already April 1 in the National Gallery.

Was it a ruse to get more visitors to grace the hallowed chambers, whether or not the portrait was legally — or even “Offaly” — well hung?

Is it an inverse Fianna Fáil plot to muster some public support for their leader? This is one of the very rare times I have a modicum of sympathy for a Fianna Fáil politician, but it won’t change my preferences in the June elections. Sorry, Brian.
