Something to celebrate

CONGRATULATIONS — if indeed that is the right word on such a sombre subject — on your editorial headlined ‘We have to do more than vote for peace’ (March 11).

Deeds, not merely words, are required also by the lovers of peace.

Let us regard the Cheltenham festival this week and the rugby international between Ireland and Scotland in Edinburgh today as great celebrations of joy in these islands.
