Let’s be patriotic and rebel against the wasters

THE Government thinks we should be patriotic, yet it carries on like the pigs in George Orwell’s ‘Animal Farm’, saying one thing to the general public about tightening belts while doing the total opposite itself.

Ministers and their cronies waste money on expenses that do not even have to be receipted, paying bonuses to managers in HSE who have made a complete mess of the health system, bailing out the banks and letting the management that created the mess off scot-free. They pay millions to consultants for various projects such as school buildings and transport that never materialise.

They treat us like idiots and, unfortunately, that is how the vast majority of us are behaving.
