Electorate regarded as unfortunate byproduct of democratic process
Roche and his colleagues in government are completely removed from our reality and appear so full of their own importance as to see the electorate as some kind of unfortunate byproduct of the democratic process.
We were asked for our vote on a new proposed European treaty and for a multitude of reasons we rejected it. In the aftermath of a string of elections, I have heard Roche and his colleagues smugly remind us that the “people have spoken”.
