MY wife and I consider ourselves very pro-EU. We have benefited more than most from the fact that Ireland is part of the union.

The cornerstone of democracy is missing — vote no

Joining it gave us and many other Irish citizens far more opportunities than we would ever have had without membership. Free movement and the right to work are just two of the many benefits we have received.

Sadly, the right to vote is not among those accorded to us by other EU countries, apart from Britain. It could be said this impinges on free movement and the right to work, but our politicians see it otherwise.
