Debt sentence

THE aviation sector in this country seems to have lost the run of itself.

A Sunday newspaper recently reported that the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) chief executive was paid in excess of €600,000. This is 50% more than Prof Brendan Drumm gets for the thankless job of managing our health services.

It’s hard to swallow when one considers how DAA has bullied Cork Airport Authority (CAA) and saddled Cork people with a life sentence of debt.

Then we learned the CAA chairman will resign in July — claiming he has achieved his objectives. After he has departed, Cork people will continue to pay for his board’s failure to stand up to the DAA’s bullying.
